چکیده
Introduction: The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is composed of dense fibrocartilage formed between the mandibular condyle and temporal bone. high collagen content this disc provides great rigidity durability. Osteoarthritis-like degenerative disease belonging to disorder (TMD) a destruction bone cartilage with consequent inflammation that enhances tissue destruction. As treatment, implantation total alloplastic TMJ prosthesis an innovative approach treatment TMD. There are two types prefabricated (stock) custom computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems. Objective: present study aimed carry out concise systematic review major clinical approaches customized prostheses for joint. Methods: rules PRISMA Platform were followed. search was carried from February May 2023 in Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, Scielo, Google Scholar databases, using articles 2018 2023. Results Conclusion: A 107 found, 34 evaluated 19 included developed study. Considering Cochrane tool risk bias, overall assessment resulted 21 studies bias 15 did not meet GRADE. It concluded results stock CAD/CAM suggested improvements mouth opening reduced pain as result rehabilitation function. showed comparable data design at 6 months postoperatively. Thus, both implants work well despite additional advantages prostheses, along increasing access digital technology, which may devices dominating market replacement

BUMC PROCEEDINGS 2000;13:135–138 Jaw joint (temporomandibular joint or TMJ) disease is estimated to affect 30 million Americans, with approximately 1 million new patients diagnosed each year (1). Although many of these patients can be managed with nonsurgical therapies, some patients require surgical intervention. The TMJ is a unique joint in that it does not function independently but works in...

متن کاملCone Beam CT Evaluation of the Bony Changes in the Temporomandibular Joint and the Association with the Clinical Symptoms of Temporomandibular Joint Disorders
Introduction: Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders are among the most prevalent abnormalities of the jaw, which affect the masticatory system, including the muscles, TMJ, and tendons. Clinical examination alone cannot determine the cause of temporomandibular disorder (TMD). In most cases, the cause of TMD and a proper treatment plan are determined based on imaging modalities. The present stu...

Introduction: The evolution of imaging in dentistry has provided several advantages for the diagnosis and development of treatment plans in various dental specialties. Examinations as nuclear magnetic resonance, computed tomography and cone beam volumetric tomography, as well as 3D reconstruction methods, have enabled a precise analysis of orofacial structures. Allied to this fact, the effects ...
متن کاملGene Mutations Associated with Temporomandibular Joint Disorders: A Systematic Review
BACKGROUND The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a bilateral synovial joint between the mandible and the temporal bone of the skull. TMJ disorders (TMDs) are a set of complicated and poorly understood clinical conditions, in which TMDs are associated with a number of symptoms including pain and limited jaw movement. The increasing scientific evidence suggests that genetic factors play a signific...
